Mr. Khaleeq ur Rahman has been elected for the Third time as Member KP Assembly as a result of 2024 General Elections.
He joined politics in 2006 and contested first general election in 2008.
Later he was elected as member KP Assembly in 2013 and 2018 General Elections from the platform of PTI.
In 2013 he served as Parliamentary Secretary Planning & Development Department.
In his second tenure he was appointed as Advisor to the Chief Minister for Higher Education Department in 2020. In the same year he was made Advisor to the CM on Food Department.
In 2021 he was appointed Advisor to the CM on Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control Department.
He claims to have brought the following reforms in his capacity as cabinet member.
Excise & Taxation Department
--Increase provincial Excise & Taxation revenue by 110%.
--Introduce online token tax payment (zama KP App/Smart Card)
--Successfully resolved the issue of contract of number plates pending since 2019
--Introduction of universal registration plates for uniformity which improved the presentation of the number plates & brought them at par with other provinces
--Tobacco cesscollection process made transparent increasing collection manifold
--Conduct GIS based survey to reclassify properties & business to increase tax net & revenue, scheme added in ADP 2022 for Peshawar, charssada and Swabi.
--Effective shuffling within Department of Narcotics, resulting in enhanced operational performance and confiscation
Ministry of Higher Education
- Rationalization & strict control over provision of subject specialist staff in colleges
- Introduce strict policy for overseeing postings & transfer to discourage nepotism/corruption
-Special focus on promoting women education by reviving dead colleges, hiring staff and upgradation of facilities
- established close coordination between universities and Finance Department to effectively control the Budgetary crises in universities
-- Minstreaming of Ex-Fata colleges by extending Joint Management Councils Structure
--26 non-functional colleges made in the previous tenures were made operational.
Department of Food
--Tackled the food crisis through strict monitoring of the distribution and control of prices.
--Implemented a well organized system to effectively monitor the food supply chain including storage, production, transportation and retail.
