Mr. Asif Khan Mehsood, MPA has summoned the meeting of the Provincial Parliamentary Taskforce on SDGs on Wednesday, the 29 January,2025 at 11:30 A.M in the Conference Room Provincial Assembly Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

A briefing will be given by the Planning and Development on SDGs in detail and progress made thereof in this regard.

Meeting of Mr. Speaker with SDPI held on Tuesday 31/12/2024 at 1:00 p.m in Speaker’s chamber

The Honorable Speaker Mr. Babar Saleem Swati presiding over the meeting related to the Family Planning: Legislative and Policy pathways for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Deputy Speaker Ms. Suriya Bibi, Members of the Assembly, Taj Muhammad Tarand, Muhammad Naeem, Ajmal Khan, Nisar baaz, Muhammad Israr. Mehboob Sher, Abdul Ghani, Zar Alam Khan, Neelofer Babar, Rehana Ismail, Abdul Kabir, Hamid ur Rahman, Waqar Shah Special Secretary, and representatives from SDPI attended the meeting.

Mr. Speaker particularly emphasized on the need to create awareness among the public for family planning and curbing the uncontrolled rise in the population.

Mr. Speaker also highlighted the importance of family planning in rural areas in particular, child marriages and maternal health care, as uncontrolled rise in population severely affect the maternal health and resources for brought up of children.

Mr. Speaker shed the light on the efforts to engage administrative departments for bringing in the related legislation and directing resources towards creating awareness among the public in a streamlined manner.
